Surry Power Station

Information on the Surry Power Station

Newport News  is part of the Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) for the Surry Power Station in Surry County, Virginia. The EPZ is 10 miles in radius and includes several communities in the northern end of the city. Newport News Emergency Management regularly participates in trainings that may involve the activation of emergency sirens tested once every month. More information on testing can be found on the annual Surry Power Station Nuclear Emergency Planning Information Calendar. 

If you live in the Menchville, Denbigh, Richneck, Ft. Eustis or Endview-Lee Hall areas and haven't already received a Surry Calendar, Please call our office at 757-269-2900.
