Patrick Henry Place
Patrick Henry Place, which is currently under construction, is being developed by Kahn Development Group and will be a mixed-use development project in the highly visible northwest quadrant of the I-64 and Jefferson Avenue interchange. The 52-acre site is located in the heart of the "white hot" Patrick Henry Corridor and will have 140,000 square feet of retail and office space, along with 762 residential units consisting of condominiums, townhouses and apartments.
This future live/work/play development will also include two hotels planned for the early phase of construction, and public spaces for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike. Three multi-story parking structures have been proposed to support the development. Carrabba's Italian Grill and Cheeseburger in Paradise, both of which opened in 2005, kicked off the retail portions of Patrick Henry Place.
Access to the site will come mainly from Jefferson Avenue, but a thoroughfare connecting the development with Oyster Point Road is being developed to help ease traffic congestion in the entire corridor between Oyster Point and the interstate. This roadway is being designed and financed in partnership with the City of Newport News and the City’s Economic Development Authority.
