Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development 2011-2015 (DRAFT, Version 2)
The Consolidated Plan constitutes a strategic vision for housing and community development activities in the City of Newport News.
The Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) is a requirement by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the City to continue receiving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) grant funding. The document identifies some of the needs for housing and community development, the anticipated resources available to meet the needs and the priorities for directing the resources. The document is currently in DRAFT form and available in hard copy format at all Newport News Public Libraries, Newport News Department of Development and Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
A public meeting to discuss components of the draft plan will be held at the Downing Gross Cultural Arts Center on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Additionally, City Council will consider approval of the Five-Year Plan at its regularly scheduled April 27, 2010 meeting at 2400 Washington Avenue beginning at 7:00 p.m. For questions or comments on the Five-Year Plan please contact Hugh Forehand at (757)929-2645 or hforehand@nnrha.org.
