Committee Membership Information

The Hispanic Advisory Committee consists of up to 12 community members that are of Hispanic descent, work or live in the City of Newport News or work for an organization that provides services to the Newport News Hispanic community and have extensive knowledge and interest in the Hispanic community.  Committee members are appointed by the City Manager through an application process.

Committee Member Application 

There is also a Working Group that consists of representatives from several City departments and agencies and works closely with the Committee to address concerns raised by the Committee as well as provide staff support.

The Committee, in conjunction with the Working Group, meet on the first Tuesday of each month from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the Police Department Headquarters located at 9710 Jefferson Avenue.  The meetings are open to the public.
