Application for Boards, Commissions and Committees

The Board Bank application (PDF) is available online in PDF format. It can be printed or filled in online and then printed. You must have a PDF viewer, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, installed on your PC to view or print a document in PDF format. If you do not have a PDF viewer installed, you may download Adobe Acrobat Reader by clicking on the icon.

A "Fillable" Board Bank application (PDF) is now available in PDF format that can be filled in online and then submitted electronically or printed and then mailed or faxed.

To have an application mailed or faxed to you or to determine when vacancies occur on boards, commissions and committees, call the Office of the City Clerk at (757) 926-8634.

Meeting Times: The Newport News City Council regularly meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month to take official action on matters brought before it. Council meetings are held in the City Council Chambers located behind City Hall at 2400 Washington Avenue, unless otherwise noted.

Work Sessions for City Council are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month prior to the regular City Council meeting in the City Council Conference Room on the 10th floor of City Hall at 2400 Washington Avenue, unless otherwise noted.
