NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Virginia Regulations 9 VAC 25-780 et seq. requires that all counties, cities, and towns in the Commonwealth prepare a water supply plan. A regional plan including Newport News has been developed through the HRPDC. The Newport News City Council will hold a public hearing and receive public comment prior to adoption of the regional plan, or one in substantial conformance therewith, on August 9, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the item may be heard, in the City Council Chambers, 2400 Washington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia.

City Council encourages interested persons to attend the meeting and hearing, and to express their views on this issue. Questions concerning this matter may be directed to the Department of Public Utilities at 926-1146. A copy of the proposed regional plan and Resolution are on file in the Office of the Newport News City Clerk.
