NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
    TO VACATE A PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY IN
    THE CITY OF NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA

   

Pursuant to § 15.2-2006 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the Newport News City Council will hold a public hearing concerning the approval of an ordinance vacating an abandoned street known as Henry Lee Drive, formerly known as Halsteads Point Road, of variable width, and approximately 1,687 feet in length from Lebanon Church Road north to the Newport News-York County line, on October 27, 2009, at 7:30 p.m., at the Newport News Council Chambers, 2400 Washington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia.

 

City Council encourages interested persons to attend the meeting and express their views on this issue.  Questions concerning this matter may be directed to the Newport News Department of Engineering at 926-8137.

Meeting Times: The Newport News City Council regularly meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month to take official action on matters brought before it. A prefatory meeting is held at 7:00 p.m. prior to the regular Council meeting for the purpose of making and accepting presentations. Council meetings are held in the City Council Chambers located behind City Hall at 2400 Washington Avenue, unless otherwise noted.

Work Sessions for City Council are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month prior to the regular City Council meeting in the City Council Conference Room on the 10th floor of City Hall at 2400 Washington Avenue, unless otherwise noted.
