NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NEWPORT NEWS CITY COUNCIL
Notice is hereby given that the Newport News City Council will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday evening, October 25, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 2400 Washington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia, for the purpose of discussing and taking action on the following:
CHANGE OF ZONING
CZ-11-314, CNU Properties, LLC, CNU Post Office, LLC, & CNU Complex, LLC c/o Christopher Newport University Real Estate Foundation, Inc.
Request to change the zoning from C1 Retail Commercial to R9 Mixed Use with proffers for three properties totaling 7.35 acres located at 301 & 359 Hiden Boulevard and 12401 Warwick Boulevard. The Framework for the Future 2030 comprehensive plan recommends community facilities for the properties. The Parcel Nos. are 220.00-04-79, 80 & 81. The Planning Commission recommended approval with proffers.
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
CU-11-291, CNU Complex, LLC, c/o Christopher Newport University Real Estate Foundation, Inc. Requests a conditional use permit to allow for the construction of a 452 room dormitory located on 4.1 acres at 12401 Warwick Boulevard and zoned C1 Retail Commercial. A change of zoning to R9 Mixed Use is being requested. The Parcel No. is 220.00-04-81. The Planning Commission recommended denial.
