PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to the provisions of Article VII, Section 9, of the Constitution of Virginia and Section 15.2-2101 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Newport News, Virginia, will, on September 13, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the item may be heard, in the City Council Chambers, 2400 Washington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia, receive and open bids for the adoption of an ordinance granting the hereinafter described easement.

The proposed ordinance will grant a 20' easement over City-owned property at 464 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, Assessor=s Parcel #022.0001-03, and which is more fully described on the plat attached to the deed. The proposed deed will grant to the successful bidder the right and privilege to lay, construct, operate and maintain one or more electric lines and one or more lighting supports and lighting fixtures, including all accessories and appurtenances necessary in connection therewith, upon, under, across and over land which the City of Newport News owns.

Pursuant to Section 15.2-1800 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the City Council will hold a public hearing on September 27, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the item may be heard, on the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the above referenced deed of easement to the successful bidder. The successful bidder will be required to pay the advertising cost of this notice.
