Amendment to Lease between the City and Huntington Ingalls Inc. (Jackson School Site)

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to Section 15.2 1800 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the Newport News City Council will hold a public hearing concerning the approval of an amendment to a lease to Huntington Ingalls Incorporated, f/k/a Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, on December 13, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the item may be heard, at the Newport News City Council Chambers at 2400 Washington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia. The property to be leased is located at 4600 Huntington Avenue in the City of Newport News, Virginia.

City Council encourages interested persons to attend the meeting and express their views on this issue. Questions concerning this matter may be directed to the Newport News Department of Development at 926-8428. If you will require an accommodation to participate in the meeting, reasonable accommodations can be made upon request. Please make requests to the City Clerk at least three days in advance of the meeting at 926 8634.

Meeting Times: The Newport News City Council regularly meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month to take official action on matters brought before it. Council meetings are held in the City Council Chambers located behind City Hall at 2400 Washington Avenue, unless otherwise noted.

Work Sessions for City Council are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month prior to the regular City Council meeting in the City Council Conference Room on the 10th floor of City Hall at 2400 Washington Avenue, unless otherwise noted.
