Item 8 - Citizen Comments on Matter Germane to the Business of City Council
C. Saylor - Concerned about the manner in which the City proceeded with the demolition of the Deep Creek Pier, and the City's intention to rebuild it as a walking pier.
C. Hogge - Advocated for the full replacement of the Deep Creek Pier
A. Pullium - Avocated for lowering of the real estate tax rate and reductions in operating expenditures
P. Killebrew - Reported on RETRO's review of the City's proposed CIP. Advised that individual meetings with councilmember's are scheduled
C. Powell - Concerned about the Deep Creek Pier
K. and D. Hammond - Requested the City's help with the strict window replacement regulations of the Huntington Heights Architectural Review Board and the financial hardship that it is causing for them.
A. Harris - Concerned that citizens affected by recent City vehicle accidents are not being treated fairly.
K. Place - Asked the City to withdraw its support of pending General Assembly bill to dissolve three citizen environmental boards
K. Adams - Requested clarification of the action approved tonight by City Council concerning HRTA
M. Prunty - Requested clarification of the action approved tonight by City Council concerning HRTA, and suggested a prioritization process for the projects to be funded through HRTA
K. Wynn - Expressed hope that justice will eventually be used concerning the Robert Harper shooting last February and similar incidents. Supported HRTA as one alternative to the transportation system improvements needed. Reported on flooing problems in Warwick Mobile Home Park. Supported community efforts in the Southeast Community for persons to keep their homes.
