Item 6. Citizen Comments on Matters Germane to the Business of City Council
S. Hope - Inquired as to why the police department reports on the Robert Harper shooting investigation have not been forthcoming.
L. Cary - Expressed her concern that the judicial system has failed in regard to shootings around the country. Supports efforts of those seeking answers in the Robert Harper shooting case.
L. Langsford - Recommended the establishment of a citizens review Board regarding police actions. Requested that City Council expedite the R. Harper investigation reports, and requested copies of them.
M. Harris - Spoke of the impatience of the community regarding the forthcoming reports on the Harper shooting.
J. Hill - Appealed to City Council and the City Manager to expedite the Harper reports.
B. Tuzzola - Concerned about the burden of the City’s real estate tax.
T. Stall - Advocated a reduced real estate tax burden and reduction of the City budget.
L. Irby - Suggested City Council consider occasional day meetings and/or earlier meeting hours during the Summer months.
R. Dixon - Requested a delay in executing the order to demolish the property at 1123 26th Street.
K. Place - Spoke in opposition to the King William Reservoir project. Encouraged City Council to make a greater reduction in the real estate tax rate than recommended by the City Manager. Objected to the high debt financing program to fund the King William Reservoir project.
T. Small - Advocated justice in regard to police shootings across the the country, and in particular the recent Robert Harper shooting in Newport News.

McMillan - Expressed her condolences to Pastor Collins family
Scott - Remarked about the City Manager’s timeline for receiving the Robert Harper investigative reports.
