Item 12. Citizen Comments on Matters Germane to the Business of City Council
D. Kundis Spoke on Real Estate Tax Relief Initiatives proposed by RETRO. Advocated a tax rate of $0.93 per $100 of assessed value. Questioned using last fiscal’s year surplus for information technology rather than reducing the tax rates.
S. Edwards Requested speed control measures on 74th Street between Marshall and Madison.
T. Savage Spoke in opposition to the recently created Hampton Roads Transportation Authority, posed some questions about perceived inadequacies of financing in the future. Mayor Frank responded to the questions.
M. Harris Advised that the “Coalition for Justice” take issues with the reports on the Harper shooting. Indicated that the Coalition will continue to exercise its rights.
K. Winn Suggested that there be accountability with regard to the Harper shooting.

Hildebrandt Advised that he released his report today on the Robert Harper police shooting. Provided the summary conclusions contained in his report.
McMillan Congratulated Kuwanis on recent event
Scott Congratulated new commander of American Legion Post.
Bateman Requested City Manager report on the possibility of small
Garbage cans for families that don’t need the larger cans.
