Location of Courts

Circuit Courts 1-4 are located on the third floor of the court building at 2500 Washington Avenue. Circuit Court 5 is located on the first floor of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court building at 2501 Huntington Avenue. As can be seen on the maps below, these buildings are on opposite sides of the same block.

Parking

Parking may be found in the designated parking areas as shown on Map 2 below, or in designated areas on surrounding streets. The parking rates for the area designated between 26th and 28th Streets are:

The parking area designated between 25th and 26th Streets is presently $3.00 per day, or any part thereof; however, please look for signs which may change this status. The parking area by City Hall between 23rd and 25th Street is free, but with a two-hour time limit. Parking at no charge may also be found along surrounding streets; however, please note any posted time limits.

Please Note: The parking garage at the corner of 25th Street and Huntington Avenue is reserved for city employees.

Jurors must display their Juror Parking Permit when parking in the area designated between 26th and 28th Streets. In addition, if the designated parking area between 26th and 28th Streets is full, Jurors may use without cost any lawful public parking space on a city street by displaying the Juror Parking Permit provided by the Clerk's Office.

Directions on the Peninsula

Using Warwick Boulevard - proceed south (Warwick will merge into Huntington Avenue) to 26th Street; at the intersection of Huntington and 26th Street, Circuit Court 5 is located on the first floor of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court building which is facing Huntington between 26th and 25th Street and is on the right side of Huntington Avenue; Circuit Courts 1-4 are located in the Circuit Court building facing Washington Avenue between 26th and 25th Street and you have to turn right on 26th Street and proceed one block to Washington Avenue. Using Jefferson Avenue - proceed north on Jefferson if you are south of 26th Street, and proceed south on Jefferson if you are north of 26th Street until you reach 26th Street; turn left onto 26th Street if you are proceeding north on Jefferson, and turn right on 26th Street if you are proceeding south on Jefferson; once on 26th Street, proceed over the overpass (over railroad tracks and Warwick Blvd.) to either the first stoplight (Huntington Avenue) for Circuit Court 5 located on the first floor of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Building between 26th and 25th Street, or the second stoplight (Washington Avenue) for Circuit Courts 1, 2, 3, and 4 located in the Circuit and General District Court Building between 26th and 25th Street. Using Interstate 64 - proceed to exit 264 (eastbound or westbound) and take that exit onto I-664 S to Downtown Newport News. Take Exit 6 (26th /27th Street) and keep to right for 26th Street. Once on 26th Street, proceed over the overpass (over railroad tracks and Warwick Blvd.) to either the first stoplight (Huntington Avenue) for Circuit Court 5 located on the first floor of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Building between 26th and 25th Street, or the second stoplight (Washington Avenue) for Circuit Courts 1, 2, 3, and 4 located in the Circuit and General District Court Building between 26th and 25th Street. Using I-664 S - proceed to Exit 6 (26th/ 27th Street) and keep to right for 26th Street. Once on 26th Street, proceed over the overpass (over railroad tracks and Warwick Blvd.) to either the first stoplight (Huntington Avenue) for Circuit Court 5 located on the first floor of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Building between 26th and 25th Street, or the second stoplight (Washington Avenue) for Circuit Courts 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the Circuit and General District Court Building between 26th and 25th Street. Directions From the Southside

Using the Monitor/Merrimac Bridge Tunnel - proceed through MMBT on I-664 North. Take Exit #6 (26th/25th Street) off I-664 and keep right to 26th Street. Once on 26th Street, proceed over the overpass (over railroad tracks and Warwick Blvd.) to either the first stoplight (Huntington Avenue) for Circuit Court 5 located on the first floor of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Building between 26th and 25th Street, or the second stoplight (Washington Avenue) for Circuit Courts 1, 2, 3, and 4 located in the Circuit and General District Court Building between 26th and 25th Street. Using the Hampton Roads Bridge/Tunnel - Using Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel - proceed through HRBT on Interstate 64 and take Exit 264, I-664 South to Downtown Newport News. Take Exit #6 (26th / 25th Street) off I-664 and keep right to 26th Street. Once on 26th Street, proceed over the overpass (over railroad tracks and Warwick Blvd.) to either the first stoplight (Huntington Avenue) for Circuit Court 5 located on the first floor of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Building between 26th and 25th Street, or the second stoplight (Washington Avenue) for Circuit Courts 1, 2, 3, and 4 located in the Circuit and General District Court Building between 26th and 25th Street.
