The following procedure for the calling of the Civil Docket will become effective with the March, 1974 calling of the docket on a trial basis:

1. Only actions at Law and Chancery causes which have matured for trial on their merits will be called. Any party who desires to have an action or cause set for trial will notify the Clerk of Court by praecipe on the form attached hereto. Notice may be given any time after the prior docket call, but must be received by the Clerk no later than the Friday, 10 days preceding the docket call at which the case is to be set. The party requesting action by the Clerk and upon parties not represented by counsel in the manner provided by Rule 1:12 of the Rules of Court of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Only those cases on which a praecipe has been received by the Clerk will be called and they will be set for trial.
   
   
2. All other matters - i.e., motions, pretrial conferences, pendente lite hearings - shall be set for hearing by contacting the Judge or his secretary for a date.
