The Mayor's Youth Commission is the voice of the youth of Newport News.  Each spring, through an application and interview process,youth from each high school in Newport News, both public and private are given the opportunity to serve their peers as their representatives to City government.

Through Town Hall meetings and focus groups, the Mayor's Youth Commission determines what issues are affecting youth in the City of Newport News.  Information is examined and reports are made to the Mayor and Council members.
