Captain Willie Wright
Captain Willie H. Wright is from Phoebus, Virginia. He joined the United States Army in July, 1970, serving over 22 years, and retired as an Infantry First Sergeant. Capt. Wright came to the Department of Adult Corrections in June, 1993 as a Correctional Officer II, where he worked all shifts. He was promoted to Senior Supervisor, where he supervised the maintenance of the Detention facility, the security of inmates, and supervision of Detention Officers. From 2001 through 2004, he held the position of Corrections Sergeant, handling various aspects of Detention, including Shift Supervisor, Supply Sergeant, Classifications Officer, and in addition, assisted the Road Services Division in a supervisory capacity. In February 2007, Sgt. Wright was promoted to Corrections Lieutenant for the Road Services Division, where he supervised the work of twelve crews in the Adult Corrections Department. Effective October 16, 2007, Lt. Wright's leadership and dedication elevated him to his current position of Captain, assuming the responsibility of all work crews in the Road Services Division.
